The 37-year-old vines of the Ecotone Vineyard are located in a secret garden hidden in its own valley below the Howell Mountain AVA but above St. Helena. Formerly known as the Thorevilos Vineyard when it was planted and farmed by David Abreu and Ric Forman, this site has long been recognized as a Napa Valley Grand Cru.
Jack Bittner rented the guesthouse and lived on the property through much of the 90's and became its steward in 2019. Now known as the Ecotone Vineyard, this describes a location where two or more distinct habitats adjoin. We source Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot from this distinctive terroir. These wines exude power, density and structure, and bring opulence and weight to our blend.
"...one of my favorite vineyards in all of Napa Valley, it seems to produce some of the most singular wines anywhere in the world.” - Robert Parker
